If I only were a talented gay man.

If God wanted to grant me one wish he would turn me into a Gay man that had enough talent to make it on Broadway as a fabulous singer and dancer.

Or at least a woman with a killer voice to get me on Broadway.

But I don't think God grants these kind of wishes. He/She has already determined the level of singing talent I deserve, and I guess my gender/sexuality has been somewhat determined as well.

Oh well.

My Grandma took me to see the Broadway "sensation" WICKED tonight and was pleased completely. There is a reason it is somewhat over exposed all over L.A. It is rather smart, very funny, and the heroine of the story (the wicked witch) is my kind of a woman... strong, smart, and out-casted.It is a nice shift of perspective on the traditional story and reminds you that every story has another side, that is usually mis-understood and mis communicated for the purpose of misguiding the audience it is meant for. Of course, she ends up with a guy in the end... which defines her happiness... which is my only dilemma with the story.

Major Kudos to the women in this production, they can certainly belt out a tune.
Check out my favorite song from the production if you want to:

But really, I do love musicals ( down with the nay sayers!) and really wish I had the talent to be on the stage. As Colin Meloy of the Decemberists once put it so gracefully, "I was meant for the stage, I was meant for the curtain." OH COLIN! You made it to the stage, be happy.

I on the other hand have been on stage only a few times in my life. All though, quite frankly, some of the most joyous moments in my life have taken place in front of the audience. Yep, Kristin likes an audience... what can I say? I am Leo. Maybe I should have pursued a life on stage more actively in my younger years. Because at 24, to make a living with the any type of
art on stage you need to poses talent. I am relatively confident I lack just that.

But, I did find within my retrospection tonight a video from "Flashback 2007" (for those of you unfamiliar, it is a show Disney Cast Members put on every-year, anyone is welcome to participate that is employed at the Resort. We did everything from write, choreograph, act, to costume it. We sold tickets to friends and family and all the proceeds go directly to charity). It was quite frankly one of the best times I have ever had in my life. I was so completely absorbed in rehearsals and the in the entire event, that I didn't want to do anything else. I even had a speaking supporting actress role in my team's play. Something to tell the grandkids.

So here is video (ironically featuring "Popular" from Wicked in the first portion), cut up into pieces focusing on one of our red-headed cast members if you can't tell. But if you look close, towards the end of the video...I am in white during the dance routine and in a red headband in the front during the singing portion. We are obviously all novices at being on the stage, but I was still proud of all of us.

So anyone up for some musical theater anytime soon??? NO? Too bad. Thought I would try.

P.S. I have a deep contempt for the person who designed "The Bucket List" movie poster. Just look at it and vomit:
blagagagaghahghahghghaghghaghhghaghahgahaghahghadlskfhjaoidfn <----- vomit noises.
